Trying to use laptop to watch a movie on the plane (3+ hour trip). We have Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, but I don't think any of these allows you to download a movie on a laptop. It may allow you to download onto a phone or tablet. We don't have a tablet, and I'd rather not use the small screen on the phone. Anyone have a hack to watch movies on the computer offline?

Netflix allows downloads when I use the app. Running Windows 11. Edit: I was confused on my platforms, and incorrect. Thanks for the feedback.

Maybe you don’t want to hear this… but torrents is the only way where you can download the entire videos with subtitles without any restriction. However … torrents is not for everybody. You need a minimal technical knowledge because it’s surrounded by malware together with corn banners and phishing. And obviously…. It’s not legal .. so don’t do it. 🤫 But that’s the best option you have. The DRM paid ecosystems don’t allow you what you want, even paying, it sucks. Once you have found a “safe” workflow to download them, it’s easy to do it. I usually have an USB-C full of movies that I want to watch with VLC and it’s not a problem at all.

Hey guys. I'm going to be getting deployed soon and I need help finding a way to download
movies and tv shows to my laptop. There isn't wifi in the middle of the ocean.
