Chrome book now has pop ups. How do i fix?
They weren’t thinking and clicked “allow” when a random website asked to send notifications. The pop-ups are just messages. There is nothing installed on the device. You can unsubscribe in Browser Settings > Privacy and security > Site settings > Notifications. Look for “click-now.services” and set it to “Block”. You might just want to change the setting to “Block all” if you don’t use browser push notifications. Too many sites use it for spam or ads. Also, stop clicking “Allow” on random stuff..! Popups on Chromebook?
Hello, This does not sound like a virus or messages from McAfee but rather a website abusing the toast notification/popup feature in your web browser (Google Chrome?) to present you with scam messages. In this case, the abusive site might be mkhvuv[.]exusnefte[.]com, if I am reading things correctly Anyways, here are instructions on how to disable these types of notifications in various web browsers; I'm unsure of the exact steps for Samsung's or Apple's web browsers, but it should be similar to these. For Brave, Opera GX, Vivaldi and other Chromium-based browsers, instructions should be similar to those for Google Chrome. Unwanted notifications (popups) from web browser Notifications which pop up on your screen can be distracting and annoying. Here's how to disable them in the various web browsers (current as of December 2021): Google Chrome (Version 96+) Enter chrome://settings/content/notifications to open the Notifications settings page in Google Chrome. Remove all non-google.com domains from the Allow section. Toggle the Don't allow sites to send notifications option to on. Instructions for Version 88 and older: Select Settings → Advanced → Site Settings → Notifications from the main menu, and change "Ask before sending (recommended)" to Blocked. Mozilla Firefox Select Tools → Settings → Privacy & Security from the main menu, scroll down to Permissions → Notifications, select Settings, click on "Remove all websites" and then check (select) "Block new requests asking to allow notifications" and click on the Save Changes button.. Microsoft Internet Explorer (does not support notifications) Microsoft Edge (Chrome-based, Version 91+) Go to edge://settings/content/notifications in the address bar and disable Ask before sending (recommended). If there are any entries in the Allow section, click on the ⋯ menu and select Remove for each one. Microsoft Edge (pre-2020 legacy versions) Open Windows Settings app (not Edge's) and go to System → Notifications & Actions, scroll down to Notifications, and set "Get notifications from apps and other senders" to Off. How do I enable Chrome to stop pop ups?
Popup blockers built in to browsers are for popups that open new windows or iframes. The type you are seeing is done by websites using Javascript. Most sites you see these on they are pretty familiar with slight deviations to match style. This is because most of these sites run a CMS like Wordpress, which has hundreds of plugins that allow websites to add "sign up here with your email" messages at no cost, with no code knowledge required and 2 minutes setup. Adblocking extensions will help but your mileage will vary when it comes to these type of notifications. uBlock with Fanboy subscriptions may be the best bet if not custom blocking rules of your own. I went to settings. Privacy and security. Site settings. Pop up and redirects and have allowed sites to use popups. However the website I need to access my course is still saying I need to give permissions for popups. How do I fix this?

First course of action I would take is to check if Pop-ups are actually showing up or not.. If they are popping up, and the site you are using still insists that you need to enable them, then it's likely the site was poorly designed and managed, as most university websites are.. Notify the administration or the webmin of the issue. If they are not showing up; stop using chrome, cause it's trash, and switch to Firefox.

r/chromeos on Reddit: Chrome book now has pop ups. How do i fix?
January 25, 2021 -
So one of my friends went to a sketchy site and somehow managed to get pop ups on her chrome book (here’s an image of it ).
From what I can find, it’s very hard to infect chrome os, so most places basically just say “it’s impossible so we don’t know”. But I doubt that that’s the case. Does anyone know how to handle this?
Edit: okay I think I got it solved. Someone suggested that the only thing that was going on was that my friend had enabled notifications on the site, which turned out to be true.
