Hello. On my sat nav I select the directions menu.(Its default setting.) I can scroll between screens until I find an icon that says find by GPS. It is then simply a case of putting in the coordinates. However, there are a number of different methods of describing coordinates.

June 26, 2017 - I guess your Pioneer will work the same as TomTom so try entering figures with N, W, degrees, feet & inches [symbols]. As said TomTom allows the 2nd method you quote as well. We also travel with a Michelin road atlas for France to check the route as we never totally rely on sat nav.

The references on the routes are grid references for dedicated hill GPS units and you are using a car/driving GPS which is not for the hills and will only take place names and postcodes. is this a wind up? My old Garmin SatNav (Nuvi 660FM) allowed you to type in OS Grid References and it would take you there.

August 2, 2016 - Each brand of GPS will be different, but should have a way to search. I really can't recall how to do it on a Garmin as I have never needed to. Edited: 9 years ago ... We've a Garmin Nuvi. We've never used coordinates. You just input the address or the nearest town. Our Satnav (and I assume others) doesn't have every location in her repertoire.
