14 pro max needs to have find my on to be findable after being turned off. You can probably play sound alert and find it that way if it’s still on. I think police can trace last cellular location just give them your imei maybe somebody finds it and they would give it back to you

Hi guys,
I just lost my iPhone 12 Pro Max on Saturday morning after a night out. The phone was connected to my iCloud account, but it seems the Find My option has not been turned on, as logging-in to iCloud from another devices shows 'No Devices' in the Find My section. As this was my first iPhone, I was unfortunately not aware Find My had to be enabled in addition to being logged into iCloud.
The mobile phone is still turned on, even after two days, as it is ringing. It has GPS and mobile data turned on, and the SIM card active.
Do I have any options to track the mobile phone down while it is still turned on? Any help/advice is much appreciated.

It will pop back up in Shenzhen when they turn it back on. They’ll text you and try and convince you to remove the device from your iCloud account so they can resell it. Just ignore them. It will eventually end up being stripped for parts.

At some point in the future you will get a text/iMessage threatening you. They will say they have your personal information, photos, maybe even allude to embarrassing things. They will threaten to send to your family, friends and coworkers if you don’t disable find my iPhone. Don’t do it. They have nothing. It’s a scam. As long as you properly reported it as lost, they can’t do anything with the phone. It’s why they are threatening you. Ignore them and move on.

Unless you explicitly turned Find My iPhone off, it was on. Try this anyway: go to iCloud.com/find and sign into your iCloud account using your Apple ID. Click Find my iPhone. Choose Locate an iOS device. If it is turned on, and the phone is still online, it will show you on a map. If it does not, then either you did turn off Find my iPhone or it is offline. If either of those is the case, it's time to visit the Apple Store and buy a new iPhone.
