You're absolutely correct and this has made Suggested Passwords pretty aggravating. My hunch is this has to do with how some websites are coded. While not solving the problem, in MacOS Ventura you'll be able to select Edit Strong Password and select the password and copy it to cache before it's lost. https://imgur.com/a/RWbuI8X Sorry, I'm not sure about on iPhone. I have a similar problem, however even if I use a generated password by pressing the fill and save button, it doesn’t update the password in the password app, so when I try to log into website afterwards ,it auto fills my old saved password instead of the new one. if I go into passwords I can find the new auto generated password under the title of recently generated passwords, I then have to copy it, paste into website and then I get the box confirmation to update password in keychain.
