i bought a new iphone 14, been using it for a few days and had to create a new icloud account to use it as i lost my old account. no big deal, until about 2 hours ago.
my phone started telling me that i needed to sign back into icloud, where it gave me an "apple id not active" error. after that i tried to reset the password, same error. i tried to log into my account on icloud, and it said my email and password is incorrect, which it isn't. i decided since all else failed, might as well reset my phone. now to turn off FMI, it needed the password again. apple id not active.
any suggestions? i can't reset my phone at my laptop since i no longer own a laptop, and also i'd rather not have an activation locked $900 brick because of apple messing up my account.
