Teen is mowing lawns this summer for some extra spending money.
We started with people paying my Venmo- but he needs some autonomy to learn.
Looked into teen Venmo + debit card. Concern that he can’t really save money from there and will have access to all of it (and the safety of that?)
Other simple ideas that we can help manage and make it easy for neighbors to pay?

Zelle with a savings account? Money probably isn't huge, and getting experience moving money in and out of Venmo perhaps isn't the worst idea, either.

I just asked about this, and here was the response from Venmo. Sure, when a teen turns 18, their Venmo Teen Account will be converted into a regular Venmo account. They will continue to have access to their Venmo balance, transaction history, friends list, and any other information associated with their account. However, they will no longer be under the supervision of their parent or guardian. They will also have the ability to link their own bank account, debit card, or credit card to their Venmo account. I think they convert it to an adult account at that time. I’m not sure if it’s automatic or has to be requested by the parent. At that point they will probably ask for ID info to transition the account to an adult account.
