im trying to do a low percent run but i dont know how i could do this without hellstone
So, there are some hellstone bars in a chest near the bridge in a brimstone crag and also some bars are used as decoration in underworld lab, so you can use these to craft flare bolt, infernal kris or maybe the cauldron (not much else since there's limited ammount of hellstone bars).
But noone cares cuz you can just fish for river shark and get full molten set along with pretty much all the hellstone weapons, why? Who thought it was a good idea? Relogic nerfed it for a reason, since it completely invalidates the existance of evil bosses
I recently beat slime god so I went to make a hellevator for hellstone. But when I got to hell, I got a "Heat exhaustion" debuff that didn't do anything at first, but then I got hit by a fuck-ton of de-buffs and died. How do I get around this???
No, it is not possible to obtain hellstone without having demonite/crimtane ore. The demonite/crimtane tier pickaxe is the only way to obtain hellstone. Additionally, the enemies in hell are a lot more dangerous than those found in the corruption/crimson.
Since you said you've beaten the Eye of Cthulhu, you should have access to the Dryad. Buy some purification powder from her, and tunnel down near the edge of the crimson/corruption biome. This allows you to the safety of your own tunnel to smash some orbs/hearts. The first orb/heart you break contains a gun (Musket/Undertaker), which is more than capable to deal with any corruption/crimson enemies. Be careful to only smash two orbs/hearts; if you smash a third, it automatically summons the boss.
In prior playthroughs without access to the Dryad, I've gotten grenades/bombs from pots to trigger the arrival of the demolitionist, purchased bombs, then combined them with gel (sticky bombs) to make it easier to tunnel sideways into the corruption/crimson. This allowed me to obtain a gun in the relative safety of my own tunnel that I can easily wall off.

You need only to have attracted only a Merchant and it will mine out anything up through the 1st tier Hard Mode ores.
- Purchase a Bug Net.
- Catch some bait.
- Build a Fishing Pole.
- Visit the Ocean and fish for the only pick-axe upgrade you'll need before Hard Mode!
So basically me and my buddies are doing a break-progression type run, and we're trying to get as far as we can, without killing any boss, and we did get shadow key and underworld loot spending several hours in dungeon using hoiks, and now we are kinda stuck on the hellstone cause reaver shark is nerfed
Hello all, playing the big calamity mod pack. I can’t find Hellstone for the life of me. I beleive its remnants that changes the map so drastically? Where are you supposed to find Hellstone with the new layout? Cheers
