I remember a few years ago that you use to be able to just pay a smaller fee and get JUST the video part of Amazon Prime. It was like an option they buried in menus and didn't advertise. But I can't find it now. Did they do away with that option?
And wasn't there something in the news about Prime Video and Amazon Prime splitting up?

I'm sure most heard that if you live in a separate household and were sharing prime benefits through one account that such services are ending because Amazon wants you to get your own membership. Don't plan on doing that because that's way too expensive for how little I buy from them anymore. I'm curious though if I can still get a Prime Video account once this new rule takes effect? A show I like is only video Prime Video and my plan is to get it for as long as the season goes on for and then just cancel it again but is it possible to have just a Prime Video subscription?
Is there an option for signing up for Amazon without paying or using the prime video service?
I've been an Amazon Prime member for a long time. I've begrudgingly accepted every price hike. I've watched as their shipping times have gotten worse, their customer service getting replaced by bots, and shady third-party sellers peddle counterfeit goods as real with rigged reviews. And at this point, I'm sick of it.
However, I don't think I can quit Prime. My wife likes too many shows on Prime Video, and frankly so do I. I found an article from 2016 which says that Prime Video is available as a separate membership. However, if I try to subscribe now (via a browser in porn private mode), I'll be damned if I can find any such video-only subscription. Is it still a thing? If so, does anyone know how to get it?
Last I checked in my region it was still a thing but the price difference between Prime and Prime Video was about a Buck a month making it not a particularly attractive option.
I think it used to be only a dollar less than having Prime with shipping (if you paid yearly), IIRC it worked out to $8.99 vs. $119.99 (so $9 vs. $10). At that point, it seems like a no brainer. One small item a month that's on sale more than a dollar off with no shipping cost covers it.
The price increase now makes it $2.66 a month difference if you do it yearly, but $6 if you do it monthly. At $2.66, I think it's still a deal.
I buy so many little things a month, I can pretty much justify it for the full price. For example, for my last purchase, I didn't have any idea if I'd even find a cheap shot glass at a store nearby, but for $1.99 Amazon delivered it the next day inside my garage (I'd have been fine if it took longer, but you can't beat the convenience). Even if I knew 100% I could find it at Target for 50 cents cheaper, 10 minutes there and back, plus the shopping and the gas, it doesn't even make sense. My 2 cents.

No yearly price for video.
I have been so excited to see this. Unfortunately, I don’t have Prime Video, so I won’t be able to watch. Is there any way to watch it without Prime Video?
I discontinued Amazon Prime membership this past July. I didn't miss it. Instead I've saved a lot from not buying on impulse. Before I dropped Prime, I would spend $300 to $500 per month easy from browsing frequently on Amazon. I havent missed it! You should try too! 😉
Is free 2 day shipping gone?
If so I why are we paying for Prime?
Trying to watch Reacher and it says it requires Prime Video. Does regular Amazon Prime not include Prime Video anymore?
I haven’t watched anything on Prime since they started adding ads. How does someone not watch with ads? Is there anything current worth watching?
I'm going to be buying Prime Video for the first time in late March or Early April for the new boxing coverage.
My question is this:
Does buying Prime Video "unlock" at least some of the movies that appear when you execute a voice search (as an example)
I'm asking because if you purchase or earn the rights to Xfinity StreamPix (on Comcast) all of the "Rent/Buy" movies become no extra charge.
Does Prime video do something similar?
A simple Yes/No is appreciated.
I realize that this may not be the best forum for such an elementary question.
