Xiaomi Mi 360 Security Camera UART shell script
To hack or not to hack Xiaomi camera?

Hello there, I have made a little script to get a /bin/sh shell via UART serial port for Xiaomi Mi 360 Security Camera 2k and I wanted to share it. It has only been tested on model MJSXJ09CM, but it will probably work on other models.

Hello,
I'm just wondering what everyone has chosen to do with their Xiaomi cameras? Currently, mine are not hacked because I'd like to be able to view them outside of my network, as well as have software that constantly records to SD and automatically deletes the oldest copies as it runs out of space.
Does the hacked software allow the above? I tried briefly before but I remember I either had to install a server (which is too resource hungry to run on an rpi), or open a port for each different camera.
Curious to hear your thoughts!
Hi! Not sure if this is the perfect sub for this, but here's hoping;
So I have a couple of Mi Home 360° 1080p cameras wanting to setup for security, and while it works well with its app, I'm not a fan of my supposedly encrypted feeds going through Chinese servers, or any servers for that matter without proof of encryption.
So I'm wondering how could I use these cameras without the servers/stock app. For one, I could restrict their connections to only a local PC, nothing else. On that PC I must setup some sort of a NAS solution (FreeNAS I guess, no idea) so that it can save the files there. Also setup some sort of encrypted live sync solution to a remote server, but that doesn't seem too difficult.
Depending on how it saves the files and how readable they are during recording, I still have no idea how could I access those videos (or preferably the live feed but motion detection triggered short bits would suffice) via an android app remotely and safely.
So before I start going through what I think I should do it, I thought I'd ask here how others have done it. Cheers! (not sure my flair fits)
