The most secure camera system will be one that's done completely locally. Don't use these fancy smart cameras with their cloud apps. Build a local system. Hardwired cams, connected to a local NVR. Implement network segregation and firewalling. If you wanna check on the go, connect via a VPN to your network. This way, your attack vector is reduced to people ripping out a camera and connecting to it's network port, even that can be prevented by implementing network authentication, of people with physical access to the system. If you know the brand, download the app on your phone, while your connected at that WiFi (more easily) 😉 ... What about man in the middle?
