Couple that with the extremely large video files from a GoPro or other HD cameras from drones, space is an issue. Why did they ever get rid of it? Offloading to a PC or cloud is not an option when you want to view/edit these things on long flights or when your in the backcountry. The other main, and very valid, argument to bring them back is when a phone is damaged or fried, it is very likely the SD card survives and all your stuff is safe. I speak this from experience. My phone drowned and fried the motherboard. Everything on the phone was lost. Lucky for me, it was a Galaxy S20 and I had a 256GB SD card that all my photos and videos were safe on. This is the main and most important reason to bring back an SD card slot. EVERY manufacturer should make this standard on all their phones. I still have a Samsung Galaxy S10 phone, which has a Micro SD card slot for storage expansion. I am currently happy with it, and will probably never upgrade to any new phones without a Micro SD card slot.
If I ever wanted to upgrade in the future, and need more storage later, what would be the best storage expansion solution?
