We are finishing a portion of our basement and are installing LVP throughout the finished area. We also planned to do the stairs, and we were told by our architect and contractor that it wouldn’t be a problem. The only way to install LVP on stairs (that I am aware of) is to glue it. However, reading through the product information from LifeProof, it states that the flooring should not be glued, and to do so voids the warranty. We want to make sure we do this right, but now we can’t decide what the best action would be.
Does anyone have any suggestions or advice for how to install on stairs, if we should, or alternative possible solutions? The stairs in question are very beat up and just sanding them down would be a pretty be eyesore in the otherwise finished space.

Looking at self installing some lifeproof flooring. My wife wants hard surface floors and my research has lead my to lifeproof as the stuff I think I want to use. My plan is to start by doing a seldom used room as to not disrupt the entire house, see how it goes, gauge if I want to continue the rest of the house or get a pro to do the rest.
My issue is that in my research and watching installation video it specifically says this product can't be used on stairs. I have a two story home and one set of stairs. In this case what do you put on the stairs? The only things really holding me back from starting this project is the stairs and fireplace. Anyone have advice on this?
If its carpeted you rip the carpet up and put new treads on that match the flooring or stain to match. You can put the flooring on the kick plates so the flooring can flow upstairs
There are other brands of luxury vinyl that offer stair treads, risers, and nosings. If you want everything to match, use one of those manufacturers.
