r/CaliforniaTicketHelp on Reddit: Traffic ticket not in system
March 29, 2023 -

Received a traffic ticket 2/1/23 and on the notice I have a date to appear in court 3/30/23.

I have been checking online and the ticket is not in the system yet. I called the county clerk and she said since the ticket is not in there's nothing they can do.

Now, she said I can go tomorrow to court but it will not make any difference if the ticket is not in yet. All they would do is give ma paper saying "no record found" and that's just for my peace of mind she said. Once they get the ticket in the system a new court date will be generated and that's what I have to go by.

Is this true? I'd rather not go to court if i dont have to since is a veeeery long commute and of course I have to work in the morning. But, I want to make sure i dont get in trouble because of it either.

Ticket is for going 15 over the speed limit. Im in san diego county.
