How can you lose 20 pounds with a hypothyroidism problem?
Go on medication, download MyFitnessPal, buy a food scale, and log everything you eat. Use proper entries (check macros and calories against other websites like skipthepie or USDA, and against your nutrition labels) Weigh or at least measure everything consistently. Weigh solids, measure liquids. Use the correct entries for the state in which you measured/weighed your food (e.g. raw entry for raw weight). Doesn't matter if you weigh raw or cooked, I do both. Just use the CORRECT ENTRIES! Estimating at times is fine, don't fret unless this happens every day. At this point estimate based on volume if you are not comfortable estimating the weight. Log daily or as much as you can! Always be within 100+/- of your gross goal (meaning TDEE or net+exercise cals goal) unless you are specifically saving up for a special occasion. Consistency enables better pattern-tracking. For the love of God, DO NOT USE GENERIC RECIPES. Create your own recipes. always and forever. Don't log stuff like "omelet - 1 egg" or "turkey sandwich." Log the INDIVIDUAL INGREDIENTS; your one-egg omelet will be vastly different from my one-egg omelet. WEIGH EVERYTHING including pre-packaged items as they are often off from the stated labeled weight - I eat a brand of back bacon that lists 2 slices as 60g, but they are almost always 40-42 grams for two slices! My protein bars are often 5g heavier than the label. Myfitnesspal will give you a goal. Set your activity level based on your non-exercise activity levels (I am lightly active by virtue of walking ~20-30 minutes a day and performing a few hours of activities of daily living in a day) and then log exercise and eat back at least half the calories. Adjust your exercise calorie intake after a few months if losing less or more than your goal. More on reddit.com

I strength train 4x a week and eat at a calorie deficit. I also make sure to get 10,000 steps a day. That’s the only way I’ve been able to lose weight. More on reddit.com

I stayed consistently at that weight until about 10 weeks PP, and I decided I felt stable enough (after a 9 lb baby) to start working out again and counting calories. Gained 5 pounds in the following few weeks:( My mom has hypothyroidism and I was REALLY struggling to lose weight so I decided to go get some blood work done and found out my thyroid was also under active.
