I'm guessing Autocorrect is taking offense to our near and dear megashark. anyway. 2-3 hundred if you're a decent shot will be fine, but if you feel you need more go for 5-6. also ammo conservation potions will help, crafted from double Cods caught in the jungle, and ammo boxes bought from the traveling merchant, as both give you a decent chance to not consume ammo, and the megashark already has a decent chance. the more the merrier, making your ammo last far longer than it has any right too. Cursed Bullets are more useful on weapons with slow speed, like the Shotgun. If you're using a rapid-fire gun like the Megashark or Clockwork Rifle, Crystal Bullets will increase the damage output more. More on reddit.com

September 24, 2021Why does everyone say crystal bullets are better than ichor bullets?
Crystal Bullets are better for bosses because of the fact that the projectiles split off. For one, bosses are typically huge targets. Secondly, they don’t take knockback from attacks. So the split projectiles will hit them for even more damage. More on reddit.com

So I am about to take on the twins and am holding my shiny new megashark. I've heard that crystal bullets are gonna be my best bet but i just have one question...how many should i craft?? I have about 200 rn but i feel like i might need closer to 2000. Any feedback is much appreciated whether it's about the bullet question or tips for the upcoming fight!

Don't bother to use any expensive ones for trash mobs, keep them for bosses. Musket balls/ silver bullets are good enough for normal hardmode mosters. If you get a wizard, then buy crystal ball. Combining 3 or 4 full (999) stacks will make you endless pouch to save money on ammo.

I could understand if Crystal Bullets dealt more damage, but ichor bullets do 4 more damage than crystal bullets AND weaken the defenses. Splitting into smaller projectiles doesn’t really mean much when you’re fighting a single enemy, but people recommend them for every boss.
