Do you guys manually set your fan speeds in BIOS?
Anyone recommend me the best setting for the fans?
Fan curve in the BIOS
[PSA] Sick of your fans going crazy? Fix it the right way.

Hi everyone, I've finished building my PC, it's running, and Windows 11 is installed.
Now the 9 fans are running at full speed, it's loud, the plants in the room are waving their leaves and I'll be cold shortly 😂.
I've already experimented a bit in the MSI BIOS. Fan curve etc. But honestly, I don't really know what's important. I have a 7800x3d and a Liquid Freezer III water cooling. 3 fans blow into the case and the rest out.
Can someone give me some tips or explain it for "dummies"? I've never done anything like this before.
Search for fan smoothing in your bios and set a delay of 3.8 seconds (or whatever works for you) then use the default fan profiles. This makes it so that your fans don't constantly ramp up and down from the normal temperature fluctuations during idle and you don't get the sudden fast ramp up when your cpu is under load which is just as irritating when using a custom fan curve to try and solve this issue.
Example pics are from an Asus bios but every motherboard has this option, you may have dig around for it or use the search function to find it.

Don't worry, having this delay will not harm your cpu or cause it to thermally throttle or any other bad thing you may think of. The temperature fluctuations that happen during idle are so quick that your fans have zero effect on them (as mentioned in another post) and by putting in a delay you'll get a smooth and steady fan ramp up when your cpu is under load.
If you have a good aio or custom loop you can even dial in a longer delay if you want since water takes a bit of time to heat up
Edit: It's been a while since I posted this but I thought I'd update it anyways for anyone who stumbles onto this thread looking to fix their fan issues. If your bios fan controls are not robust enough for your needs I recently came across a fantastic speedfan replacement that's free and easy to use, grab it here.
