Pair AirPods with an Apple device - Apple Support
You can also connect a USB-C to USB-C cable from your AirPods Max to an iPhone, iPad, or Mac with a USB-C port. For full functionality, turn on Bluetooth on the connected device. (Requires iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4, macOS 15.4, or later.) If you try to connect your AirPods to your device and you don’t see the setup animation, you can pair AirPods with your device manually.

How to pair two sets of AirPods to your iPhone at the same time (and why it's genius) | ZDNET
November 20, 2025 - We use AirPods to keep the noise down, but we don't listen with one set of earbuds. We each use our own. Thanks to Apple's audio-sharing, we can both connect to the same device at once. I use this trick all the time. Each of us can control our own volume or, if using AirPods Pro or Max, even pick a preferred listening mode. The best part is that it just works -- no adapters, no wires, no hassle. Here's how to set it up. What you'll need: A supported iPhone or iPad, plus two pairs of compatible AirPods or Beats headphones (such as AirPods, AirPods Pro, AirPods Max, Beats Fit Pro, or Powerbeats Pro).

r/airpods on Reddit: Can I connect my AirPods to my iPhone only, not my other devices?
October 1, 2021 -

I have AirPods which Apple “helpfully” connected not only to my iPhone but also to my iPad and MacBook.

I do 100% of my AirPods listening from my iPhone. But despite setting all the “auto connect” settings right on the other devices, still halfway through my podcast listening suddenly Peppa Pug starts bleating into my ear as my son is watching an episode on my iPad.

I don’t need my AirPods to ever be connected to my iPad or my MacBook.

Can I somehow only connect them to my iPhone?

r/iphone on Reddit: How can I connect my AirPods Pro 2 to my new iPhone?
December 11, 2024 -

Helloooo!!! I got my AirPods Pro 2 two years ago, but back then I had an Android phone, so my ex-boyfriend registered them to his phone. Now I have an iPhone, and I want to connect the AirPods to my own iPhone, but it says that another user is the owner.

Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Also, I recently learned that the registered owner could track the location of the AirPods, and that’s super creepy xd. I just want to reset them and make sure they’re linked to my account. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance 😊
