I am trying to pay my Canadian Tire Credit Card balance with etransfer (from Simplii), and in Simplii it requires one add a phone number, what do I put there?
Edit: Oops I wasn't clear enough, lots of folks trying to help (thanks!) setup paying CC bill using bank transfer, my question is specific to the CTFS e-transfer CC payment system, which is one of their recommended payment methods.
I recently read on this subreddit that I can use the Canadian Tire Triangle MasterCard to pay my utilities, property taxes, etc. without being charged a processing fee while simultaneously earning 0.5% CT Money.
Wanting to take advantage of this, as I had previously been making these payments directly from my bank, I called the number on the back of my card to inquire about how to do this.
I spoke with the woman on the phone and was told that I'd have to set up online banking. I did so and she walked me through adding a payee. Before I made any payments, I asked her to confirm that 1) I wouldn't be charged any processing fee, and 2) I would earn 0.5% CT Money. She said that I wouldn't be charged a processing fee, but I also wouldn't receive any CT Money from paying these bills. This contradicts what I read elsewhere in this sub.
Can someone please explain to me if I'm doing something incorrectly or what the correct steps to take advantage of this credit card are? Or if that method is no longer valid.
Relevant Information:
I want to pay my property taxes (City of Toronto), Gas (Enbridge) and Utilities (Toronto Hydro) using this card.
Bonus questions:
-
Can I set it up so I don't have to pay the bill with my credit card, but rather the vendor automatically bills my credit card (I think maybe this is called a pre-authorized debit)?
-
Since both cards are no fee, is there any reason I shouldn't switch to the Triangle World Elite Mastercard and earn 1% CT Money instead of 0.5%?
Thanks for the help.

My husband added my Canadian tire triangle Mastercard as a payee to his bank account, but I didn’t realize there were 2 different options for the payee name- one is the triangle mastercard and the other is just Canadian tire Mastercard.
He selected the second one and made a payment, will this still go through to my account or did we just pay someone else’s bill? lol 🤪😬
