How do you play solitaire?
The objective is to get the cards into 4 stacks at the top of the playing area, sorted by suit with the Aces on bottom, then going up 2, 3, 4, 5 etc. up to King. In the main area, you have columns of cards dealt face down, with the last one on the stack at the bottom face up. You can move face-up cards on top of other face-up cards, but they must be in sequenced order from highest to lowest top to bottom, and must alternate in color (red black red or vice versa). So for example, you can only put a red 9 on top of a black 10. Or you can move it to the top when appropriate, if it's the next in sequence for that suit, so for example if you have the 9 of diamonds on the lower area with nothing on top of it, and the 8 of diamonds is showing up top, you can move the 9 onto it. The other move you can do is to move a King into an empty space on the main play area. Cards can also be moved in stacks instead of individually if they're all stacked in the correct sequence with alternating colors. When you get to a face down card in a stack that has nothing on top of it, you can turn that card face up. When you have nothing else you can do, that's when the draw pile comes into play, depending on what rules you're playing that will determine how many cards you turn over at a time from the draw pile, etc. You win if you get all cards in the 4 piles up top, you lose if you reach a point where you have no legal moves left.
