In casual chat (say, with friends) the words kind of blend in together for me, so it sounds like hardo / harto. On (say) a work call, or giving someone important instructions, I'd alway enunciate more clearly, putting a very clear stop between the ending d and starting t. Answer from whooo_me on reddit.com

I find it very hard to pronounce "World"
If you want to say it with an American accent, say "were" and then say "old". Say them together. Don't separate the sounds; try to get them to run together. Keep doing this, and speed it up. You'll sound like you're saying "werold". Speed it up until it's somewhere between one and two syllables, like "girl". In my accent, it's not really a one-syllable word; the R and L both take on vowel-like qualities. More on reddit.com

Hard ch pronunciation | WordReference Forums
April 30, 2006 - Is the hard ch [x] ever possible at the beginning of a word??? It's mostly following the vowels a, o, u so it must normally only exist at the end of a word such as in nach, noch, or maybe in the middle machen, right? Therefore, there should be no chance to confuse it with r or h which occur only at the onset or before a vowel.
