I set up a gmail account years ago, using a phone number. I no longer have that phone number.
I tried signing into that gmail account (I remember the password) but it told me that I needed to confirm a code that was sent to the phone number used to set it up.
Now Gmail will not let me sign in.
What do I do now? Does google seriously expect people to retain all their phone numbers for the rest of their lives? These rules are RIDICULOUS.

I am literally experiencing the same issue right now 🥲. I know the password but the number is from a different phone. I am waiting to get to the screen that asks questions or something but haven’t gotten there yet

With no recovery email, recovery phone, or recovery codes, then unfortunately your Account is lost. Don't pay anyone to 'recover' your Accounts, as you will most likely be scammed!

Hi everyone,
I use a PC for my Gmail. I haven't signed out in years. Earlier this evening I had accidentally signed out and I can't remember my password to log back in.
I tried to do the account recovery but it's not helping. Reason: I no longer have the phone number I used on that email address, so I can't get the code they would normally send me.
Also, I'm unable to sign into my recovery email because it's a very old one that I haven't used in a long time. It took several tries for me to get my recovery email password right, but by that time, outlook had notice my previous attempts at logging in as suspicious and made me answer a bunch of questions to verify that it's me. Well, I failed that because I can't remember email addresses I sent mail to from years ago, along with the subject of recent emails that they ask for.
Is there any other way for me to try to recover my gmail password without my old phone number and recovery email?
It's so frustrating because I thought I had written down my password, but when I checked, it was for a different email address.
Any help greatly appreciated!

With no working recovery options configured (e-mail, phone), it will probably be impossible to prove ownership of the account. - The only account recovery option Google provides starts at https://accounts.google.com/signin/recovery - Google does not provide live support for account recovery, you must use the above link.
