I’ve been watching YouTube videos about upcycling furniture to get some inspiration for improving some of my own second hand furniture. I’ve noticed they frequently use chalk paint and I’m wondering if there’s a particular reason for it?
Is it just a “flatter” version of matt paint, that people like the look of? Or does chalk paint have an advantage with furniture, like not needing a primer or fewer coats of paint or something?
Just paint. Chalk paint needs no prep on MOST things unless they have a glossy finish. Then a light sanding is in order. I have painted over so many things with no preparation so a project with raw wood requires nothing more than for you to start.
Vonnie....My understanding with chalk paint is that you do not have to do anything but clean the item you want to paint and let it dry good before you begin if you get it that wet.
