Today, I gifted a friend of mine Hollow Knight, simce she really wanted it. I live in Europe, she lives in the US. She never received the gift, so I tried giving her the code that was attached to my order. When she tried it, it said that she couldn't use it, since the game was purchased in a different region
Adter this, we tried multiple things regarding her changing her region, all to no avail. So now I'm looking to get a refund for the game. How can you do so when it was gifted? The gift hasn't been claimed yet, so it should still be possible, I just don't know how

So for starters let’s talk about my brother. We currently live in the same house and I have no locks on my Xbox or to my room for that matter. Around 5:30 I get a notification that I was billed 40 dollars (due note I’m at work no where’s near my console) I decided to get on my Microsoft account to see that my brother had gifted himself something using my Xbox. I’ve looked to refund it only to see it not on the refund list.
Other things you can ignore if you want
I have now locked down my Xbox and now requires a password to login to it now
Scrolling through all of the purchases I have now found out that he’s stolen 140 bucks from me in the last month and a half
I’ve looked and i know for a fact that it’s him since all of the purchases are gifted to his account and I know it wasn’t me
Many of them I know I won’t get a refund for most of them are 10 dollar purchases that I don’t care so much about the 40 dollar one though I would very much like back though
I gifted my friend in the US "The Elder Scrolls Online Summerset"
I found out he cannot redeem the code since the code is AUS.
Is there any way to convert the code into a US code or refund the gift?
Edit 1: I refunded gift by using Microsoft's online chat support (So this does work)
Edit 2: Changing your Xbox to Australia doesn't let redeem the code in different regions
I've recently just gifted my friend a game but he never received it because he's in a different region. I tried to look at my refund page but it doesn't show up there, how can I refund it? I'd really like to avoid any phone calls to Microsoft if possible, but any help would be appreciated!
A friend of mine bought gta story mode instead of gta online for another friend and he already redeemed the code is there a way to refund it?
Accidentally gifted a game to a friend, code is NOT redeemed but doesn’t show up on the refund website

Curious if anyone has any insights. My sister told me about a game she was interested, and I wanted to surprise her by gifting it to her. When she redeemed it we noticed it said it was only for Series X | S, and we each only have an Xbox One. I submitted a refund request but Microsoft says they will not refund it. Clearly neither of us have the correct console for the game? Has anyone encountered this? I'm going to call them shortly when I get a moment, but I was confused. Maybe I've been spoiled by how well Steam treats refunds.
