My newly built PC won't display on my monitor and I'm not sure why. All the fans are spinning, but there's a solid red light on the motherboard. I figured the BIOS was the problem and I tried doing Qflash with a USB and the BIOS button in the back, but without a display, I have no idea what I'm doing and all the tutorials from Gigabyte require display. The button flashed yellow for a few minutes and then the PC turned off. Still not displaying.
I have the Gigabyte B650M Aorus Elite AX motherboard. Any advice ? This is the first PC I've built myself, so I'm pretty lost.
Edit: Ended up returning the motherboard, couldn't get it to work, so I'll be buying a different one. Thanks for all the advice, it was very helpful.
I’m running into an issue with my Gigabyte X570 Gaming X (Rev 1.1) motherboard and need some guidance from anyone who has experience with this particular board. I’ve made some changes in the BIOS, specifically enabling Above 4G Decoding, and now my GPU (MSI RTX 2060) is not being detected properly, and I can’t see anything on the display since my CPU doesn’t have integrated graphics.
However, I can remote into the OS once the system boots up, which tells me the system is actually running, but I can’t see the BIOS setup to reset things manually. The issue seems to be with the GPU settings in the BIOS, so I need to get back in there to disable the Above 4G Decoding and potentially revert other settings to default.
Here’s what I’ve tried so far: 1. I’ve cleared the CMOS several times, but it hasn’t helped. 2. I tried flashing the BIOS, but it didn’t reset anything to default. 3. I’m trying to reset the BIOS manually, but since I’m doing this headless (with no display), I need to know the exact key combinations to reset the BIOS settings using only the keyboard.
From what I know, F7 should bring up the “Load Optimized Defaults” option, but I’m not sure about any pop-ups or other steps that I might need to navigate using only the keyboard. I really need to get my GPU working again, so I’m trying to reset the BIOS to the default or optimized settings.
Here’s what I’m asking: • If anyone with the Gigabyte X570 Gaming X motherboard knows the exact key combinations I need to use to reset the BIOS (using only the keyboard), I’d greatly appreciate it. • Specifically, if there are any pop-ups or confirmation prompts that I need to be aware of in the BIOS to confirm the reset (like pressing Enter to confirm after selecting the default settings). • Any tips on how to ensure that the settings are correctly reset, as I don’t have a visual output and can’t confirm from the display.
Thanks in advance to anyone who has faced a similar issue or can help with the keyboard-based BIOS reset! I’m trying to get everything back to working order without needing a display or extra hardware.
In case the PC won't go into the BIOS due to whatever reason, what's the SAFEST way to reset the BIOS
to factory settings manually?
Does anyone know how to use the keyboard and power button to reset the BIOS on a Gigabyte laptop?
I don't want to open it up and mess with the battery (which is integrated and not removable) or anything like that, as it would void my warranty, and I'm afraid to do damage to the laptop and to myself.
Not knowing what I was doing, I turned off 3D graphics acceleration in the BIOS settings, thinking that it was causing issues and that performance wouldn't be distorted with it disabled. Now when I try to turn it on, the information light in front of it with a light bulb is activated, and I assume this means the screen is [attempting to turn] on. But there is no light coming from it at all, nor are any of the other lights blinking, indicating that the hard drive is doing anything.
I have sent a message to Gigabyte support asking if there's anything I can do to resolve this, but they are taking a while to answer, and quite frankly, I'm a little desperate to solve this issue as soon as possible.
I remember faintly that something like this has happened before, and I did something with the keys on the keyboard and the power button, but I can't remember how. I have even searched my Google activity for where I found out how to do this, but I haven't found anything.
