I have the Pixelbook from 2017, never really used it much but started to more recently and jeez, right clicking is extremely frustrating on this thing. So is there an easy way to right click?
Tapping two fingers on the touchpad is near impossible. It's as if you have to get the two fingers to touch at *exactly* the same millisecond, or it won't register a rightclick and will instead just leftclick a link or something. I have to try 3 or more times to finally get a right click to trigger.
I've looked online and supposedly pressing Alt + leftclick will trigger a rightclick - doesn't work for me. I'm holding down Alt, I tap the touchpad and nothing. I hold down Alt and press the touchpad in (so it clicks) and nothing. Can't see anything in settings to allow Alt + click to trigger a right click.
So how is it supposed to be done?

Muscle memory: practice, two finger tapping becomes natural. If this doesn't work, then use a mouse.

Sorry you are struggling, but 10's of millions of ChromeOS owners use the two finger tap every day. You should get used to it after a week or so. I constantly switch between different ChromeOS laptops both with and without an external mouse, without problems. Just a note - the two-finger tap does not require actually pressing down on the touchpad - just tap it. Also, check your settings to make sure you actually have enabled the tap-to-click option. Settings>Device>Mouse and touchpad>Enable tap-to-click

Can't you enable two-finger tap on a Windows touchpad? Do that and then your new muscle memory works everywhere! More on reddit.com
