I've seen a lot of videos about dropshipping with $0, and I want to see if any non-YouTubers have tried doing dropshipping with no money. If you have, write about your experience and how you did it.
I keep seeing youtube videos and people who have claimed to start a successful dropshipping business with 0 dollars, but is that actually possible or is it a lie? Ive also been told you need something like a shopify store and a large social following but im pretty much starting from zero.
I have some money but im just curious if a can start if it can do this for free or close to free. If your wondering i have around 150$, i know its not much thats why im hoping to start for free.

So I have looked for hours, and I haven't a clue on where to start, and I have literally a $0 budget, so that really doesn't help, so can anyone give me tips on how to start on nothing?
All the genuine and honest people, please tell me can I start dropshipping with no money? Because I can't invest right now or I don't have money to invest.. I want to start with no money, I don't even have laptop. My plan is to start with no investment, and after earning some money through initial sales, I will invest that money. Can I do that ? Please give me honest answers. Thank you
Unfortunately no, you need money. It’s also going to be tough without a laptop. Baby steps, find a job, save up for a computer, save up for some initial investment dollars, set yourself up for success - walk before you run!
I suggest u to start but don’t plan on earning and investing on it , just build the store and train urself how it works , what to do after u build a store , etc. that way u learn and train before u actually start dropshipping. POV : (Only if u have a laptop )
^ May sound as a guide, but I'm actually asking for help. I could tell my whole life story, but in short - I'm 17 years old, had to left school because of depression issues, and I'm now searching for a way to get money. Found about dropshipping, already did some research, i plan to sell Gaming Related products - but how can i sell anything without money, not being a US citizen? As much as i could tell, it seems that i need to find:
A supplier to buy from A way to sell
My problem is - how do i gain acess to supplies without money? I found a lot of sites with supplies, but i need to buy them, so I'm guessing i need money to start. Any tips regarding this?
I can't work outside home for health issues and i don't have anything to sell, being poor. How can a teenager with no money start it's own business? I have a PayPal acc with 2 dollars from selling art, but my pc recently broke and i can't sell anymore.
Thanks in advance. Sorry for this giant text.
I hate to break it to you, but this isn't a get rich quick type of business. Please try to get a job first that doesn't include this. This type of business requires investment upfront. First, you need to get a computer. Second, you need to decide what you want to sell and where you're going to source products from, and where you're going to sell it. When a customer purchases a product, you do not get that money right away. You first need to purchase the product and have it shipped out. Many drop shippers also make mistakes and spend a lot of money before they succeed.
You can make money from free tactics with dropshipping but not much. I wouldn't suggest it because you would probably be making less than minimum wage with the time you would have to put in. A good way to make money with no upfront costs is freelancing on fiverr or upwork. You could also do social media marketing for other companies but you would probably have to leave the house now and then to meet with clients.
I have an hour or two daily to spend on it, I know how to edit and can make good high quality edits I just need clients or is it better to make YouTube page and post by myself there?
I don't want to make a lot of money, I just want to pay my monthly bills. if this is possible, what should I do?
In theory, you don’t need any money to start dropship. This is just an example of how it works. Let’s say you want to sell some shoes. Well a drop shop company will sell you the shoes for $40 a pair. You put them in your online store for $100. You don’t need money upfront. Whoever go online to your store and buys the shoes. You send their information to the factory. The factory sends the customer the shoes but first the customer sends you the $100 by online payment.
No
Any tips on starting a dropshipping store and growing organically?
Dies anyone have any success with starting a store under $100 because I'm sure there are ways to get everything for cheaper. For example:
2 months free trial on reddit (check top posts of all time and you'll see it somewhere)
Domains from other websites like Go daddy which do £1 offers.
Free advertising from using Instagram and posting in forums
Free Shopify Themes
Basic Free Apps to help Shopify Store look clean and professional
There seems to be a decent amount of ways to start absolutely free but I want to know if anyone else has had a successful store from starting with very little money or if it's possible at all.If you have ,how long did it take to get your first sale, what did you do for advertising on a small budget, what was your budget,do you think it was worth it or should I just spend a couple months saving up a couple hundred?
I heard lots of people say they spend so much money on ads to get their store running and bring customers so does that mean that i could start a shopify store however it wouldn’t work well if i don’t spend so much money on ads ?
Which means that a successful dropshipping store can’t succeed with 0$ at first? ( with 0$ i don’t include the shopify subscription costs those have to be payed)
Someone please tell me what they think based on their experience or knowledge ?
i’ve watched a lot of youtube videos on dropshipping with shopify and a lot of them are saying you can start for free however is this realistic or are they just lying for views. one influencer showed proof that she had made money without spending money however is this an unlikely case. i’m very interested as i’m looking to start a business without having to spend any money!
Gee, wow! I saw this Facebook ad yesterday and watched a webinar (I got the LAST spot available - talk about luck!) and now I’m ready to start a dropshipping empire. I don’t have any money but I heard that I don’t need to - you can start up for free! And I don’t know anything about the internet but I heard that it’s easy to build a store with Shoplify and EBay and AlyExpress. Just some Facebook ads (which are cheap - like $5 a month!!), and you’re off!
My questions are this:
-
Why haven’t I made any sales? All my products are the same as my competition and I copied and pasted their descriptions and ads. Why aren’t I getting their sales???
-
Can someone here build my store for me??? Write my copy?? I just want to make money and honestly this is starting to feel like a real job and stuff and I just want money lol
So yeah so thanks guys I’m starting my dropshipping podcast/blog/YouTube Guru platform next week and working on a book to dropshipping successs. Hope you’ll check it out.
No links to my store - no stealing my million dollars idea!!

My favorite comment that I saw was a guy asking for tips on what kind of products he should sell. Someone responded with “no one with a good idea is going to share it.” His response was that he sees beginners sharing it all the time. And the other guy responded with “yeah beginners share it. Not those that are successful.”
Dear diary,
I met the sarcastic chandler from friends today disguised as a dropshipper on reddit.
He is really funny.
P.S hope people understand the work behind running a successful dropshipping business. It is as real as any other business and require time and efforts just like anything else in your life.
I've been researching and working on dropshipping, acquiring knowledge and a detailed understanding of how things work and what I need to do once I'm in the middle of it, but I still struggle to understand what to start with. My budget is tight. 100$ max. I can reinvest everything I make for a month or so but that's all I have to start with.
Where do I get started practically and how do I spend my money in the right place to get into it?
P.s: I do plan to do organic marketing until I can push out a handful of sales enough to reinvest back and try for better strategies
I’m not suggesting it would be free forever or that there wouldn’t be a cut that a platform would take in order to use it when you make a sale.
Is there anything like a company that lets you use the pictures of their products, then you put it on eBay, let the company know when it sells, then you keep whatever you get after paying for that individual product and the eBay fees?
I’m not saying this would be crazily profitable at all. Just looking for a way to get started on limited resources.
i’d start with organic tiktok advertising but there are still gonna be things you gotta pay for like shopify, apps, etc but you can try to cut your costs down using organic advertising. that’s what i’m trying to do rn. good luck
It's going to be almost impossible to do it with $0, but can be done fairly cheep to start. Just reinvest your profits after each sale. Shopify is doing a $1/month deal for 3 months if you sign up for a new account, so it should give you some time to build up enough sales for that first actual monthly payment.
That being said, your expenses will be mainly advertising. It's usually ran $/day, so it's literally up to you how much you want to invest per day, week, month, etc.
Find a niche, find a problem, find a solution, find a way to advertise it.
There are pleeeenntttyyyy of product pictures on suppliers websites that they allow you to use for free. Some products have 5+ per varient, some have 1. Some even have videos that they allow you to use for free.
Also there's tons of info on YouTube on how to find a niche, solve a problem, advertise, and even how to build your Shopify store step by step to make it appealing and (theoretically) successful. AC Hampton is one of my favorites if you need a place to start. Don't sign up for a bunch of gurus free email list until you have a second phone number and email address. They will bombard your line all day. Also, most of them ask for a large amount of money. Ask me how I know. Anyways, hope this helps. If it makes you feel any better, this is just what I've learned in the past few months.
Hey everyone! Instead of coming by and dropping some random tips, I thought it might be useful to show you a month to month playbook of my dropshipping journey. I started back in January, didn't know what I was doing and lost money. Now I'm making almost $25k a month in revenue with 40% profits. In this post I've attached a screenshot of my earnings every single month since the beginning and will give a brief outline of what I did each month to grow. Hope this helps!
BTW, this is with a niche store (sorry not giving out the link!)
January - $643: I had no idea what I was doing. I heard about dropshipping on Reddit and decided to try it. Initially I did a free + shipping offer on a baseball cap and I got some decent sales but lost money because of ad spend. Was using Facebook ads only at the time.
February -$3,000: After running the free + shipping offer, people started buying other things on my store. It became clear to me what items people wanted, so I ran single image ads to them and this greatly boosted sales. I also began doing work on SEO this month. That included writing small blog articles, rewriting product descriptions, etc.
March - $6,900: My SEO from the prior work started to pick up so I began getting free traffic from Google searches which increased sales. I also started and Instagram page to build an audience related to my niche that I occasionally promote products to.
April - $13,200: I was able to double my revenue during this month. My previous job was working as a programmer, so I wrote a complex web crawler that search the web to find me winning products. Saved me tons of time and allowed me to test a lot more products. I found some new winners this way which increased sales. I also began running re-targeting facebook campaigns at this point and learning more about effective advertising.
May - $18,400: I added an upsell app to my store which increased my average order value from $20 to $45. I also discovered a new "sub-niche" for my store when browsing results from my web scraper bot. This allowed me to target a whole new audience and product more sales.
June - $15,800: Sales decreased a little bit this month. This was largely because I had recently moved and didn't have a ton of free time to work on the business. Things like being slow to answer customers, not optimizing ads, etc. can all add up to a revenue loss! Totally my fault.
July - $25,000: My best month yet! After a loss of revenue in June, I decided to crack down. I scaled all my Facebook ads up a ton and it didn't end up hurting my conversion cost. I also found another "sub-niche" that contained multiple winning products. I think my lesson here was that I was previously too scared to mess with my winning ads, which included scaling. It obviously worked out in my favor when I decided to get out of my comfort zone!
Key Takeaways:
-
Focus on multiple sources of revenue. I have a lot of sales coming from places like Pinterest, Google searches, my Instagram account, etc. Try not to get caught up in only doing Facebook ads.
-
If you have a skill, use it. Anything you can do that others can't will get you ahead of everyone else who's doing the same thing. In my case, I'm a programmer and was able to create the product finding bot.
-
Find winning products. 80% of your revenue will come from 20% of your products! This means you need to find that handful of best sellers that you can rely on to bring you sustainable income. Test, test and test some more. Browse other successful stores to see what they sell.
-
Don't be lazy. It takes hard work and thinking outside of the box! You saw what happened in June when I slacked off. Keep pushing forward and the results will be endless. I could easily maintain the business spending 15 minutes a day on it, but it took a lot of hours to get there.
I hope this helps! 📷🙂
Edit: I don't sell courses so please don't PM me asking! I'm always open to answering questions in the comments so it helps others too.
What is the average price of your products? I know you don't want to disclose the exact niche, but I'm just wondering if you're selling 5 orders of $100 a piece or 50 orders of $10... for example.
Really nice of you to share and congratulations on your succes so far, keep it going!
I have a couple of questions, feel free to take your time to answer :)
-
What did you use most of your time on? Like 40% ad testing, 40 % product research 20 % optimizing the site?
-
Where did you learn to use fb ads, instagram ads etc? Any reliable source on Youtube? Feel like everybody is just trying to sell a course..
-
Do you use email marketing, and if you do, how is that working out?
-
What did you do to get traffic for your first sale?
-
How long did it take you to get breakeven, and start being in plus?
-
Do you only sell stuff that relates to your niche? Like did you pick animal clothing, and then sell clothing for every animal, or cut deeper and only sell dog clothes, then test different clothing for dogs? I guess my question is, how deep should one go into a niche, and do you try to sell outsideoutside your niche?
The hardest part is most def to find a niche, i feel like everybody is saying most niches are saturated, so its kinda hard to find something.
Sorry about all the questions, i really get motivated by your post, and want to try again with another store, and start from scratch :)
