Dell do indicate the 5 beeps on that laptop indicate the CMOS battery needs to be replaced, and seeing as that is a 2015 model, the battery is 7 years old which is about the expected lifespan of a CMSO Battery.
Seeing as the beeping has stopped, wait for a day or two to see if the beeping starts again, and keep an eye on the time in Windows when you start up the laptop, if that is not correct, or the beeping returns, then you will need to replace that CMOS battery on the motherboard.

April 20, 2015 - 5 Beeps on the system means’ Real Time Clock (RTC) power fail’ and the cause of the issue is ‘CMOS battery failure’. I’d suggest that you update BIOS and chipset driver on your computer to check for issue resolution.

Take out the CMOS, then hold the power button down for 30 seconds or more to do a full drain. Then boot into bios and set the clock. 5 beeps are the POST code for CMOS. If this doesn’t work, might be the mobo is going out. More on reddit.com

August 15, 2023 - took laptop apart to fix dc power port that had snapped off inside of laptop. I superglued it in place because the plastic tab on one side had broken off so superglued the other side and it now works again. also replaced cr2032 battery while I had it apart figuring the thing is quite old so it was a good time to do it and i already had the case apart. when turned back on everything worked ok except for the 5beep signal that persists loudly at first startup then goes to a softer volume once windows 10 loads.

April 7, 2026 - I have replaced the coin 3v battery, ran all the Dell diagnostics. It appears all hardware is functioning properly and the main battery is fully charged and in good order. As I mentioned, Windows works fine along with all other programs. In order for the laptop to boot I have to removed the main battery and plug in the AC. After doing this it boots on it's own and not touching the power button. Still getting an continuous 5 beep alert.

June 20, 2012 - Sometimes systems beep when the sound driver is not installed however they usually display an error message also. First step would be to run the diagnostics. Power down your system. Press F12 at the Dell BIOs screen, select diagnostics and run these with any extended tests. If the diagnostics pass, then it will be a software issue. I think this is more likely to be the case. As the system is 3 years old, with Windows Vista, I recommend performing a clean install with the service packs installed before the drivers.
