Existing home with no extra tiles available to examine. Original build spec sheet isn't available. How can I reliably determine whether this is porcelain or ceramic tile and make sure I use the proper cleaning process?

If it helps to know this, it's in a higher-end home, the tile is highly polished, and it's perfectly smooth to the touch.

They look pretty big, so it’s almost guaranteed that they are porcelain. Ceramic doesn’t hold up well past around the 24x24 inch mark. It cracks too much in the baking process.
