Dropper spits coarse dirt into my hands, I place, I path, then piston pushes under a block to reset to normal dirt (can skip this step if just want dirt), then past dispenser with waterbottle to turn to mud, then into TnT chamber. I have yet to fin dout the point of amber, can anybody guide me on what it is? I have used it a couple times in my smelter but it seems ineficient and time consuming to get materials, any help will be appreciated

When growing saplings, most non-metal (dirt, petrified, sand, gravel, etc.) acorns and resins combine to make a block of whatever the sapling name is. So 4xDirtAcorns and 5xDirtResin makes 1xBlockOfDirt. Bam, easy, 1 block of dirt, no extra steps needed. For metals (iron, copper, lead, gold, osmium, etc.) combining acorns and resins doesn't just make an ingot of the metal. Instead, it makes metal Amber, which needs to be cooked in a furnace / smeltery / whatever to produce ingots. And since the standard SkyFactory world doesn't include a pre-generated Overworld with caves and oceans and such, cooking Amber is one of the only ways to get metals in the early stages of the game. If you don't yet have a sapling for the metal you want (for example, an Iron Sapling), the only way to make the amber is with other Resins (I can't remember exactly, but I think it's 4xPetrified, 2xGravel, 2xSand, and 1xClay). However, once you have an Iron Sapling you can use 4xIronAcorn and 5xIronResin to make 1xIronAmber, and it becomes much easier to make Iron Amber.

I need to convert a lot of coarse dirt into normal dirt. Since someone will be curious, I'm playing Skyblock and getting gravel from piglin trader. The only natural dirt I got was the starter island.
I'm pretty ahead and can use redsdtone, quartz, and almost any item or contraption.
So far, I am placing the coarse dirt over a platform, using the hoe or shovel to convert to farmland or paths, then breaking these with a normal shovel so dirt drops.
Is there any faster method to do it other than to manually place, convert, and break the blocks? My shovel can insta-mine the farmland/dirt/path but...
I was thinking of making a piston conveyor belt / feed tape that would push the dirt around, then stand in one place, feed all the coarse dirt, convert it when it comes back around, and then break on the second lap.
Can I do it faster than that?

Could grow spruce trees on it and then dig up the podzol. Has the benefit of getting wood too.
