Just picked up the 15Pro so it’s my first time using iOS 17. Can you update apps manually? I’m so used to swiping down on my profile in the App Store which would refresh apps that you could update.

August 25, 2025 -

I have very strict parents and the App Store is removed from my phone from screen time, my parents are lazy and don’t wanna add the passcode for me to update my apps.i use to update them from iMessage because there was an App Store that didn’t let me download anything but did let me update my apps now it gone after I updated my whole phone. I don’t know any way to update it without the App Store is it impossible? I don’t have any socials downloaded on my phone and don’t feel as accepted because of it especially with people my age.

r/ios on Reddit: How to update apps on iOS 17.6.1?
August 10, 2024 -

Don't know whether this is since iOS 17.6 or 17.6.1, but I don't see any app updates any more in the App Store, I just see which apps I have, but it shows no updates any more.

I have automatic updates disabled.

On iOS 17.5, app updates were available when tapping the user icon.

UPDATE: Seems that after some time, updates will show up again if there are any on your account page via the user icon 🤷‍♂️

r/ios on Reddit: A way to force update apps
April 17, 2025 -

Hello there, since I really like small phones and 13 mini is the last one will ever be released. I was thinking of getting it, but as IPhones have a lifespan the 13 mini has no more than 5 years as most app won't support more than 2 to 3 years older ios. Is there a way I can force update an app after the OS support drop?
