This appears to be a Windows 11 issue. Here's a solution that worked for me. (4th November, 2023) 1) Navigate to User\AppData\Local\Roblox\Versions\version-6f0b02756d914e3e (version hash may vary, if there are multiple, use the most recent one) AppData is typically a hidden folder, which means you can't access it by traditional means. 1.11) You can access this by using the Windows + R shortcut. 1.12) After you do that, a small Run window will appear. Type %appdata% and press enter. 1.13) This will take you to the \AppData\Roaming subfolder. Simply click back and you'll find yourself in the \AppData folder, navigate to the bold directory in step 1. In case the ROBLOX Installer installed ROBLOX Studio on your computer, but not the actual Launcher itself, you may navigate to this folder easier by following these steps. 1.21) Right click on the shortcut on your desktop/start menu. 1.22) Click "Open File Location". This will lead you to the shortcut's file location, but not to the actual folder just yet. 1.23) Right click on the ROBLOX Studio shortcut in the folder that just popped up on your screen, and click on "Open File Location" again. 1.24) You should now be on AppData\Local\Roblox\Versions, all that's left to do now is to click on versions-6f0b02756d914e3e. 2) In the folder, find RobloxPlayerLauncher.exe and launch it. This will complete your ROBLOX installation. 2.1) If this doesn't work, try launching it as an admin. 3) Wait until the installation is complete. A window announcing the installation's success should pop up. This should fix your game, folks. More on reddit.com

the fix is to go to %appdata% and then from there hit the back button then go into the local folder and find roblox, once you open the roblox folder look for the versions folder, click on that, and theres 2 other folders. click on one of them doesnt matter which and then click RobloxPlayerLauncher.exe, dont click on the installer click on the launcher as i said before and wait for it to download and it should work, you know it works when it gives the message "ROBLOX SUCCESSFULLY INSTALLED!" My daughter is home from school sick today and messaged me this morning. She's getting "error 280" which means there's a problem with the client and they want her to update it. I've tried talking her through sorting it and all the easy fixes didn't work. I'm going to have to look when I get home from work tonight, in the meantime she's playing Minecraft and napping.
