I’ve got several episodes recorded, edited, finalized, etc. and ready to go “live”. I’ve been doing audio engineering for over 20 years, but this is the first podcast where I’m responsible for getting the podcast online to all streaming platforms. I was reading how to guides and there is mention of needing RSS feeds. Is that still necessary? I was planning on using Anchor to get the podcasts hosted. Anything I’m missing? Recommendations? Links?
Hi I submitted more than 24 hours ago my first episode thru anchor and it is still not available in iTunes or Google podcast. Can I submit the RSS manually or since I started with anchor I should wait for them to complete the process? Will every new episode take as long or it gets faster after you are already up?
This community is great by the way!
Thanks
Congrats on your first episode!
Is your podcast show not appearing in the Apple / Google platforms or is your first episode not appearing?
About submitting your show: Once your podcast show has been submitted in Anchor (Mobile: Your Podcast tab > Distribution ), it should be approved and will display in about 24 hours in Apple Podcasts or Google. Anchor will email you if there were any submission issues.
When do episodes appear? Once your show is approved and appears in the Apple Podcasts directory/ Google Podcasts directory, when you record and save an episode, the episode should appear to your subscribers the next time their podcast app checks for an update. On Apple devices, that is about every 6 hours. For non-subscribers (people just browsing through the Apple/Google directories), expect your episode to appear in less than 1 hour and definitely in less than 24 hours.
I recommend contacting Anchor for help.
If you enjoy troubleshooting, I recommend manually viewing your podcast feed in Firefox or Chrome. Verify your recent episode shows in your feed.
Post your podcast feed here, as well as the podcast name if you can’t solve it and I will look into it.
