Please note I’m referring to "Buy With Prime" - exactly as written - as a checkout option on an entirely separate retail website, not buying on Amazon with a prime membership. I saw the option on a retailer’s site, and decided to check out with it. It asks you to sign into your Amazon account, and then you get the benefit of Prime shipping. I did instead of just buying from their Amazon shop directly because they had an ongoing sale not reflected in their Amazon price. And instead of just checking out from the site directly because they charge for shipping. So it seemed the best of both worlds. Plus they have a rewards system, so I was able to use some of my accrued points to get an additional discount.
Item was delivered today but I didn’t receive it. That’s where the stress began. Even though it was shipped from Amazon (literally has a TBA Amazon Logistics tracking no.) and shows up right in my Amazon App as "Buy With Prime Orders" (a separate tab just to the right of the "Orders" tab) as far as Customer Service can see, the order doesn’t exist. The tracking number doesn’t even seem to show up on their system at first until you transfer to a supervisor.
They say it was delivered to an Amazon locker in my building (one of those terribly designed bluetooth ones that have you completely screwed if there’s ever an issue). But the "Start Pickup" option doesn’t show on my app as it does for my regular Prime Orders. They also can’t remotely open it. They can’t really do anything since they can’t see anything…because despite being shipped from Amazon, shipped by Amazon, on an Amazon truck, with an Amazon driver, to an Amazon locker…the order somehow isn’t an Amazon one that they can pull up any details on. You have to use some infernal buywithprime.amazon.com chat system
It’s this horribly implemented system that exists in some dark limbo that neither Amazon nor the retailer can get to. You just have to cross your fingers and hope no issues pop up (I still don’t understand why the driver put it in a freaking locker, and if they did - why Amazon would give no way to access it).
