Hi there! Sorry if I'm being an idiot, but I've been trying to figure things out for a few hours, searching here and there but I'm still at a loss. I've recently taken the leap and set up a dual boot Bazzite, and so far having a blast, even though I have to relearn a lot of things.
Latest issue is I'm trying to set up an undervolt/overclock profile for my RX 7900 XTX, and managed to unlock all options in LACT, but nothing I do seems to apply. I figured I'd try undervolting first, but Mangohud still shows the same value. To make sure, I've tried setting the fan at a fixed 100%, but that doesn't kick in either after applying. Am I missing something? Yes, it's the correct GPU (I've disabled onboard chipset in BIOS).
Please don't bash me too hard.
Edit: my investigations and reading of https://gitlab.com/corectrl/corectrl/-/issues/460 point me to a driver level issue with my GPU, as I seem to be unable to change settings using Corectrl as well. Still investigating to clear the fog and try to find a solution/workaround.

It likely also includes undervolting. https://github.com/ilya-zlobintsev/LACT/wiki/Overclocking-(AMD) It is easy to miss so no worries.

I'm going to warn you with lact, but bear in mind, this was just my experience on arch. I highly recommend corectrl over lact, because it works well and has never boned my arch install like lact did. I was not getting the same performance boost so decided to mess with the minimum clock settings, which immediately made my pc crash. When I rebooted, my main monitor was static and glitched out, the other was just green. Long story short, I had to use my live usb to use chroot to delete lac. After that, everything went back to normal and I went back to corectrl. I just wanted to compare the two and lact lost for me. You may have a different experience with it, since your hardware and distro are different. But I still wanted to relate my experience with lact.

If it's an AMD GPU using the amdgpu driver, you can just adjust those settings in the Thermals tab. I don't remember if you need the featuremask to adjust fan curves but you can just enable it in the OC tab (in the "Enable AMD overclocking" setting). More on reddit.com

You can manually specify the amdgpu.ppfeaturemask=0xffffffff kernel parameter in your bootloader to enable overclocking. See the ArchWiki for more details. As some of the GPU settings may get reset when suspending the system, LACT will reload them on system resume. This may not work on distributions which don't use systemd, as it relies on the org.freedesktop.login2 DBus interface.

For people trying to overclock/undervolt their cards while also being able to set up fan profiles, there's no better software in my eyes. And it's also very lean.
Note: Undervolting your Nvidia card has to take the indirect route (=shifting the freq curve) as no direct voltage control is exposed via the Nvidia drivers.

Recently upgraded to a 9070xt, but boy is it loud on the default settings.
On windows I used adrenalin to do -12% PL and do a custom fan curve, it applies on launch
Can I do the same on Fedora/Cachyos using LACT?

could I get some help with this error? I’m just switching off of bazzite due to the fallout between Antheas and the broader founder group. I’ve got TW otherwise set up but I don’t understand what’s going on with this error. I grabbed the RPM off github, installed with YaST and this message won’t go away despite running the command in konsole

Incredible how no one is really helpful. I bet the deamon is indeed already running but it's a misconfig on the LACT files. Edit this file: sudo nano /etc/lact/config.yaml and edit the lines with the admin_user and admin_group with your user and the admin group you are part of. You can check who your user is with in console: whoami Then write in the console to check who your user is part of. groups [user] Write both results on the config.yaml file and save. Restart lact, and it should be working now.
