I have a MAX subscription! but why can't I choose to have only opus model in the cloud code????

I have a max five subscription, and I have the same exact option. I saw somewhere else people having the choice between opus and sonnet. Not sure why we have this simplified option

Do you have option to choose Opus in claude code? I see only Default and Sonnet 4 to choose from in /model

you don't want to go for opus. Mine used opus as a default after update. Then what usually last me 5 hours was used up in an hour. It secretly switched to sonnet even earlier than that and that's ok. but i now have 3.5 hours to wait. I need to know how to specify how to use sonnet only once my limit resets.

Opus 4 is crazy expensive FYI :,) learned this the hard way haha

Even after updating Claude code I'm still only limited to Sonnet. I'm pretty new at this, so any help would be appreciated.

Opus is only for max plan in claude code. You can use opus in the desktop app though toghether with a file-system mcp.

I wonder why my Usage page on my Pro account says the following and yet I can't switch to the model: Updates to usage limits: November 24, 2025 We've removed the Opus cap so you can use Opus 4.5 up to your overall limit. You can also now purchase extra usage for access to Opus 4.5 in Claude Code. We may continue to adjust limits as we learn how usage patterns evolve over time.
