So what I can gather from these responses is that you can pretty much do anything in terms of materials with the porcelain stuff, it's just more tedious and way harder to scale. Nice to know it doesn't specifically lock you out of anything though. More on reddit.com

I've tried trouble shooting this myself but nothings worked so far. I have the apple sapling, 3 iron ingots in the melter and the rest is laid out properly. When I right click the faucet, nothing comes out. Any help?

Super new to all things modded minecraft, so this might be obvious to a lot of people, but:
I'm playing SF4 with Prestige on, only unlocked Hopper bonsais so far. Two questions:
-
Can I build a smeltery equivalent with just porcelain? If not, what am I locked out from by just using porcelain? Is it just a scale thing or are there things you can't do with porcelain?
-
I haven't yet unlocked the Smeltery prestige node, but it seems like I'm already able to craft a lot of the seared block smeltery parts - is it broken? am I just missing one integral block that I haven't noticed yet?

July 8, 2019 - If it was seared brick you'd almost have it set up right, except change the top part to a smeltery drain, the basin to a seared tank, the porcelain heater to a smeltery controller, and the casting table to a seared brick block.

Hey everyone, as the title says my porcelain melter its not working with the porcelain tank for some reason.. it works just fine with the heater but when I swap it with the tank it won't work. heres a SS of my setup. https://imgur.com/IwOS6oF

What part doesn't work? Can you not interact with the melter? Does it not melt stuff? I don't see anything obviously wrong with the setup. I myself have used the porcelain melters & tanks without issue.

Don't shift click the tank down or move the tank by picking it up, break it with a pick (retains fluids) and place it normally then put the melter back on top.

How do i create a smeltery in skyfactory 4? All the tutorials show that i have to use a smeltery controller/drain, but i don't have these in the NEI menu, and i can't make them. What do i do? I have prestige enabled in my world btw

If you’re in prestige mode, that’s probably the problem. Unlocking those parts is done by a prestige option-until then, you’ll need to use Melters and Alloy Tanks. There’s a prestige option that says something along the lines of ‘everything you need to build a smeltery’ if you want to bother.

You need to create Seared stuff like a Seared Smeltery Controller, than 1/more Seared Tank to insert lava. Make a 3x3 floor and make walls externally. The controller must be at least at the 2 block in height. You don't need to make the 3x3, you can make it smaller or larger.
