Super easy, make sure the app is set up to have the home screen shortcut where a little bar appears on the bottom of the screen, then make sure you have a card already set up in the app before you go to a store. Once that's all good and ready to go all you need to do is go to your home screen when you're checking out at the register, swipe up on the little bar, and it'll either ask for your PIN or if you've set up the fingerprint you can just use that, and it'll vibrate and show a countdown. Once that's happened you just tap and hold the phone against the credit card reader. If you're using a case that's too thick for wireless charging it'll probably be too thick for the MST mode on Samsung Pay but it should still work with any Tap-to-pay readers using NFC. personally I really don't like the gesture where you swipe up for the card. you set up your credit card in the app (you'll likely have to speak on the phone with your bank which only takes a few minutes). then once you're setup, anytime you're at an NFC or even a regular credit card terminal you just pull out the app select the card and use either your irises or your fingerprint to authenticate for the purchase. it's extremely quick and easy and the receipt shows up immediately on your phone. I can't recommend it enough, I don't even carry my credit card around anymore.

Attempted to use Samsung pay for the first time today. Got my card setup and verified, went to Walmart, unlocked my phone via fingerprint, swept up from the bottom and brought up Samsung pay, and held it to the card reader for a moment. Nothing happened. Maybe I didn't hold it there long enough, I don't know. The store was busy so I didn't want to hold everyone else up.

I have no clue how it's supposed to work since all of the videos on YouTube about it are over a year old. It didn't prompt me to press any button or scan my fingerprint or enter a pin or anything.

If anyone has clear instructions on how to use it today that would be helpful. Thanks!

I'm not sure where you are but in Canada, Walmart doesn't accept tap payment so I have to hold it long enough (like 10 seconds) so that it can simulate the card swipe action. I think first Samsung Pay tries the tap method which is pretty much instant and if it doesn't work then it simulates the swipe.

I'm not sure if this is a setting, but for me, once you open Samsung pay the card appears in a horizontal position. Then I have to use my fingerprint again, the card will rotate and the phone will start pulsing vibrations and at that point it's ready to go.
