So I just got a membership at Sam's Club (yay!) and put my mom as the complimentary membership, but we can't seem to get her set up for the app.
Is she supposed to be signed in under my name or something? I'd have thought she'd need her own login and what not.
We've been having no luck figuring this out via Google so I figured I'd ask here.

She signs up under the number on her card. Good luck

If you signed up in online (or even in club really) just go to the membership desk to get her number. You will need that to register her own account. Even though there is an umbrella number for the whole membership each of you have your own for purchases and such.

My partner has a Sam’s club account and went online and added me as the complimentary member.
How do I get my member number? Can I go to the store myself to get it or do I need her to come with me to get the membership?
I just don’t want to make the trek up there by myself only to have to come back again if I need her to accompany me.

Just did this today. I went to membership services alone and showed them a screenshot of the primary member’s card info. They then confirmed my name & gave me my card! Easy

Also, if you are fairly new to Sam's, the app is the only way to go for scan n go shopping. Now that they have the AI exits, they just wave you thru when you exit without needing to scan anything in your cart. (there are some exceptions when you will still get scanned) and not having to wait in line at the registers is life-changing.

Just a tidbit of information I wanted to share - I just recently signed up for Sam's Club and added my spouse as a complementary household member.
It seems a bit ridiculous that they don't tell the household member their own ID number in the welcome email so that they can register and use the website/app. I was googling and found some places recommended getting physical cards first or going through chat to find the ID number for the extra members.
What I was able to do is, as the primary account member, go to the Account -> Additional Cardholders section of the website. I opened Developer Tools from the menu in my web browser and found the request with a URL ending in /v3/membership/summary. Viewing the response payload for that request will show the complementary member's membership ID which in my case is very very similar to the primary ID but with a digit changed.
