If the BIOS update failed or if things in lack of terms is pretty fucked...you can try the hail Mary for HP's in this situation. With the computer completely off, power on but hold the windows key and B for awhile. This will launch the HP BIOS recovery IF it's supported for the laptop. I was typing an essay when the screen froze, went black then restarted and now my laptop says “HP Bios Update” at the top and “initializing” in the middle of the screen. I’m very confused and don’t know why it’s not updating or doing whatever it needs to do. I recently bought this laptop so I don’t get it. Is there anything that I can do to override this?

8570 is very old iirc, absolutely no way it’ll be upgradable Win11 requires intel 8th gen or newer, which for HP commercial notebooks corresponds to G5 and newer G7 introduces a number of other features that are required for new win11 systems, and so these are essentially the first generation that is “designed for win11”, but as far as I’m understanding G5 and G6 should also support win11 (BIOS update may be needed) More on reddit.com

June 29, 2021BIOS Firmware will not download / install. HP Support Assistant message / result keeps saying "canceled" - though I am not canceling. See below for details.
OP, I have the same issue as you as of today, though I did not hit 'cancel' before running the update in HP Hardware Diagnostics. I hit the 'agree' option, and the operation still just cancels. Several tries yield the same result.
