The issue with inkjets for low use is the ink can dry up. So even if you get a year out of a cartridge you will have to replace it. A laser printer is a dry powder and will not just go bad, I get 6-7 years out of a toner for my black and white printer, and that’s just how long to use it up. I’m going to get a colour laser printer now that my kids are starting school, realistically I should not have to replace toner for a long time. More on reddit.com

December 31, 2023Got an HP Envy Photo 7855 and got a question about these ink cartridges (the OEM ones cost a lot of money these days) as temporary cartridges until I can afford OEM. Are these any good?

April 3, 2025My HP Envy Photo 7855 is refusing to print magenta or yellow.
This seems to be a color cartridge problem. Take the color cartridge out and wipe the print head with tissue paper. Make sure the tissue paper shows cyan, yellow, and magenta colors. If the cartridge is not dry, it will show all 3 colors after a few tries. After that, insert the cartridge back and try a test print. This normally happens in inkjet printers if you don't print at least once a week. More on reddit.com
