I got this printer back in March of this year. I opened the original packaging and set up the printer to make some flyers for a garage sale. Everything worked fine at the time. After the garage sale, I packed up the printer into its box and put it away for a few months. About a month ago I unpacked it again so my fiancée could print some labels, but when it printed there were problems. I also tried to print on normal paper and it still has this problem. I tried the clean and align cartridges option, and the clean smear option. The pictures show the results of that. Any help is good, thank you! More on reddit.com

February 10, 2024HP Envy Photo 7855 is having trouble with feeding? Used to print just fine on this glossy vinyl sticker paper.
This problem doesn’t occur with any other type of paper I use (matte vinyl sticker paper, regular copy paper) and it used to print everything just fine on this paper so i have no idea why it’s decided not to work with this particular brand anymore. :( any ideas why this might be happening? Thanks for responding. After several long days of trying to reinstall printer and software, I finally got it working. At some point when I was re-installing printer and software, I chose "my printer is older" and it found my printer and it was success after that.
It's now working. Yeah!

My printer recognizes the type of paper I have in the main tray, which is 5x7” cardstock, when I load it; but when I try to print it tells me to load paper into the photo tray. My cardstock is slightly wider than 5” so I can’t put it in the photo tray to even try it because it does not fit; but it should work from the main tray anyway. Online it says my printer can handle this type of paper so it should work.
I have tried everything, looked up my issue on hp support assistant (even though it’s never helpful), posted on their discussion board (no responses there surprise, surprise), looked to Google, restarted my printer, and I can’t find anything to help me. Please please please tell me anything to try & help me! I included photos with captions from my printer & hp smart app.
