Hello, I just bought a laptop from HP and I'm trying to install Windows 11, it doesnt have any OS at the moment. I insert the flash drive into the PC, turn it on and expect it to just boot itself into the windows installation, but it didn't, so I pressed F9, chose to boot the flash drive, but it threw me into something like cmd, there was just "C:/>" and I don't know any commands whatsoever, does anyone know what should I do? I'm in a hurry need this laptop for work. Thanks for any advice.
I have these laptops (sadly, I dislike them tremendously), and can confirm they can run WIN 11. You need to load the Drivers for the Intel Rapid Storage driver. Should be able to get them from here:
HP 250 G8 Notebook PC (26H16AV) Software and Driver Downloads | HP Support
At the organization I work for we are attempting to reuse old computers to save on costs. We have several HP 250 G8 laptops that are on Windows 10 and when attempting to use the Win 11 media creation tool I get to the point in selecting the drive to install it on but the drives are not showing up. Another tech said they found that these laptops might not be compatible with the 23h2 version of windows 11 and above, and only 22h2 is compatible.
Since that version is not available on Microsoft, and is not being updated/supported, I am wondering if this is a lost cause and we should just look for newer laptops to save on time and security purposes?
