How much does the student discount provide ? I applied to it and they said they will contact. "We have received your HP Education Store application and will be in touch shortly to confirm your membership." Should I wait for them to reply or directly buy the laptop??
Please advice
How much discount does a student get at HP?
How do I get HP student discount?
Does HP offer student discount?
I've posted here, so I've done a decent amount of research and searched through this sub and found a few posts from students, but I'm still left with a few questions.
About my use-case:
I won't be gaming, at all. I have a desktop at home
I will be typing notes and using one-note to copy and paste images and drawings
This is for med-school so this will see substantial use. Focus on Biological fields, biochemistry, metabolic pathways, etc.
No budget really, but I'd like to keep it under $1500, with the HP student discounts that seems quite reasonable.
the laptop currently sitting in my cart is the 15-eb1097nr at $1325. I do like the 15" as it has a numpad. This model also has the Iris CPU, integrated graphics, 16gb RAM, 512gb storage.
I'm teetering between the 15-df1075nr, which appears to be the 2020 model, at $1360 with the Intel® Core™ i7-10510U and GeForce® MX250 which should beat the breaks off of the the 2021 model with intel® Core™ i7-1165G7 and integrated graphics, but I don't know what QoL things I'd miss out on or if I'd even be able to make use of the discrete graphics on the 2020 model as it is.. I'm also seeing a model at bestbuy, 15-eb1043dx, at $1600, but could price-match on HP.com down to the same as the other models. Does anyone have an info on this particular bestbuy model? It looks to only have 72% of the ntsc as opposed to the eb1097nr at 100% rgb.
I'd like to know if this is overkill for my use-case? I'd also like to know if it would end up being overkill if I opted for a more expensive version with discrete graphics? And for those of you in a similar position who don't need to use any graphically intensive programs, if the lack of discrete graphics still is a bit of a con despite this lack of true need for a discrete GPU? I'd also like to know if there is a version that works better with programs like Anki, or any other biology focused programs? There are a few graphically intense programs that are used to model things like protein chains, but are they truly graphically intensive? Are there programs commonly used in med-school that I just wouldn't know about that might be very graphically intensive?

Always and I mean ALWAYS ask for a discount code from the sales team, 9/10 times they give out 10% discount codes. And the 1 time they don't, you at the very least asked. I just ordered the HP Omen 16 with a 5090 which costs a staggering £4000 in the UK. Just as I was about to pay I had the idea to message their Sales support and see if they have any discounts for new HP customers. Turns out they quote you there and then (at least with HP) and they gave me my 10% off quoted directly to my email. Now 10% doesn't sound like a lot, unless you put in perspective that 10% of 4000 is in fact £400.
That's right.
I saved £400 by just...asking.
Worth sharing.
I'm looking to purchase a new laptop for grad school and was looking at the HP Spectre x360 15t touch (5KC45AV_1). Does anyone know if HP has a student discount option? I tried "registering" through the site when i google student discount, but it takes me to the HP store in India and i don't think that's right since im in the US. Thanks!
Have you tried registering through a general nationwide student discount service ie. UNIDAYS in the UK?
(Sorry if this is a silly question, not sure about US discounts)
If you are like me,the website was probably one of the worst ones I’ve encountered in a while. Every time I would try Unidays, it would forget that I was supposed to be inside that store as soon as I navigated anywhere. I gave up and just used my work promo store. Try contacting support and seeing if they will register you to the Unidays store... that was what they had to do for my Perkspot Employee Purchase program through my work. Best of luck, and great choice of laptop!

Also 35% off O'Reilly and No Starch books, not to mention discounts on various Linux events
I am thinking to buy HP Omen R7 7840HS + RTX 4050/4060 ( not sure which one ). Can I get the hyperx headset and steam gift card from the official store. Also, for how much I will be able to get the warranty and adp?
( In the image it is written 8gb 4050, but it is 6gb )
Hi, not sure if this type of question is allowed here but I’ll ask. Does anyone know if there’s any discount codes for the HP omen max? I’ve managed to get £400 off with a student discount but I wanted to know if there’s any more
