There are many WYSIWYG Editors out there, but some are very old and the dev experience is quite bad. Some are headless with many plugins and need a lot of time to tune them to your liking.
I am looking for a very simple WYSIWYG Editor, if possible just an import and then specify an id. What are your goto WYSIWYG Editors?
Edit: Sorry I was not clear enough. I am not looking for a Website Builder, I am looking for an Editor where a User can write something like a Blog Post.
I have found several. Like ProseMirror, Slate, DraftJs, Quill, EditorJS, TinyMCE, TipTap etc.

Depends on your frontend's stack but the simplest to setup is probably TinyMCE . It's more limited than the other options in terms of customizability and extensibility though. Then comes TipTap (which is an abstraction over ProseMirror ) that also comes with great defaults but better customizability and extensibility. Finally there's Slate and Lexical which are super powerful in terms of customizability and extensibility. They're great options for when the editing experience plays a major role in the product. They're more complex to setup though. Edit: on a side note, Lexical is made by Facebook which also authored DraftJS. I don't recommend DraftJS, it's outclassed by Slate and Lexical.

I'm just looking for a basic editor that I can paste copied HTML so the backend can run some transforms on it.
So far, every editor I've tried absolutely destroys the HTML, removing attributes and even elements. In some cases, even altering table structures.
Is there a basic javscript-based HTML editor that isn't opinionated?

I was hoping I could find something much akin to the old Kompozer program, which I had some limited experience in using, but up to latter day compatibility standards and able to work on saved MHTML files. Did not require anything fancy, just basic Add, Delete, & editing of text, with some minor formatting alteration possible -- all in WYSIWYG mode, such that the changes will appear as desired if opened in major browsers. A preliminary search for something like this has not been looking too promising. Better if it's also free and open source, but I would not completely rule out a paid program, depending on the details. I am more at the Beginner+ level, so anything with a steep or arcane learning curve would not be suitable.

I often find myself hand-coding websites, and putting blocks of text in can be a time consuming process.
What would make my heart sing is a simple WYSIWYG text editor that I could use to set up my text and copy the HTML into Notepad++ for the website.
All of my web development is volunteer work, and every time someone gives me a block of text with lists, etc. my head hurts. I'm here because today someone sent me updates with a long set of text that I have to go through line by line.
I don't want anything as involved as Dreamweaver, etc., but it would be a bonus if it was open source or free.
Would be very grateful for any suggestions.
