IceWM Theme Creation Howto
September 26, 2025 - Both the theme file(s) and the decoration pixmaps live in a single subdirectory under ICE-LIB/themes, where ICE-LIB is either the IceWM system directory or a users' .icewm directory. Themes then appear in the "Themes" item on the program menu.
IceWM FAQ and Howto
When you are runnign IceWM you can switch themes via the Start Menu button in the bottom left corner. Some options can be changed on the fly via the Preferences Menu. Don’t forget to select Save Modifications.
IceWM Manual
IceWM originally was designed to emulate the look of Motif, OS/2 Warp 4, OS/2 Warp 3 and Windows 95. Since it has a theming engine others styles are possible. A large number of original themes have been created and published by users.

July 10, 2021 - It's the SilverXP theme but with the larger cursors from the K-ath-Leen theme. Nothing fancy, copied SilverXP to a new folder, copied the cursors into there and set that as my theme: cp -r .icewm/themes/SilverXP .icewm/themes/RemyXP cp -r .icewm/themes/K-ath-Leen/cursors .icewm/themes/RemyXP/
