Can my family share an iCloud+ plan?
What is iCloud+?
Is there a free version of iCloud?
Family of 5: 4 iPads, 4 iPhones, 1 MacBook Pro.
I want to move away from the subscription. It costs over $50 a month where I live and it’s just become too expensive. I can do without all the features, except cloud storage. For example my wife uses around 560 gb primarily photos, which we don’t want to lose. Anybody know of any solutions where I can navigate away from iCloud? Im willing to pay just not the current price.
Edit: sorry guys, yes the subscription is Apple one. In Canada costs ~$51-52 tax in.
our family needs more icloud data, primarily for photos. we don't each need 2TBs, so we're going to get one 2TB plan for the whole family.
the issue is that we don't want to share all of our photos and vids, obviously.
so when i sign up for the 2TB plan and share it with my family, how easy or hard is it for us to make sure that personal data stays personal?
I’m currently on the $9.99/month iCloud plan with 2TB of storage, shared with my husband and two kids. While my husband uses very little space(11GB), my daughter is taking up over 600GB! My son is using 200GB. I’d like to avoid upgrading to the $29.99/month 6TB plan and stay within Apple’s ecosystem (iCloud). I also appreciate on the go access to photos and files so hard drives won’t solve the issue.
I’m considering putting my daughter—or both kids—on a shared $9.99/month iCloud plan to free up space on mine. A few questions:
▪️ If I move my kids to separate shared iCloud account, will their files automatically be removed from my account to free up space?
▪️Can they still stay in my Family Sharing group for purchases, apps, and Screen Time?
▪️Is this the most cost-effective option, or is there something I’m overlooking?
I know this is just a temporary fix, but it’d buy me some time before committing to the $30/month plan. Any advice is much appreciated!
