April 26, 2025Is it possible using y splitters to connect all my icue compatible hardware to two motherboard USB ports?
So-called "USB Splitters" are usually unpowered USB hubs. You can use them, sure ... but you will likely have issues. Use a powered USB hub instead. Like this: https://www.corsair.com/us/en/p/pc-components-accessories/cc-9310002-ww/corsair-internal-4-port-usb-2-hub . That'll be on one motherboard USB port. If you know the cables and how they work, you could (potentially) combine some of those. Most (but not all) devices only use 1 actual port on the USB header (which has two). So if you combine the leads correctly, you utilize both ports. More on reddit.com

Hi, First of all, we should clarify exactly what you mean. In the picture I can see a s ystem hub and our 4-way splitter . You can connect the 4-way splitter directly to the system hub. I’ve been searching for an iCue link cable that’s a Y splitter. But the end that’s the 2, as a female connector to a 1 male connector. So I can consolidate down to one single hub. My system currently has 2 hubs and both ports are taken up on each of them. It’s the only way I’ve been able to get everything wired in because of case restrictions. Does anyone know if this cable exists and I just can’t find it.

So my motherboard only comes with two USB 2.0 connections however I need like five for my whole system (Corsair H170i LCD, Fans, PSU). Can I just use splitters to connect them all to those two ports? Especially if they have different functionality (eg Fans, AIO Display, PSU) or are there other solutions?
