LONG time user of IDM here. I think most of us knew that Ublock Origin was going to be axed with the coming changes to chrome but I was not expecting IDM to be disabled as well. This is a huge loss for me as I have grown accustomed to IDM sorting downloads into separate folders based on file type automatically. So my question is to those of you who use it, what are your plans now? Are you just going to stop using IDM even though you have an active subscription to it or are you going to move to a different browser that still supports it if any?
Thoughts?

This is due to a big change in chrome from Google. Google has made changes in it's policy regarding chrome that it will not allow extension install from outside the chrome web store.
It is done to protect users from malware and scam on the web.
There is no way out for this. Sorry
You can try this, which worked for me:
Remove the IDM extension currently installed in your Chrome then go to this site IDM Integration Module offered by www.internetdownloadmanager.com and add the extension there, this way Chrome will not auto disable the extension anymore.
Hi GDM,
I'm Amr, an independent advisor.
You can download the extension simply from the store for
Chrome
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/idm-i...
Edge
https://microsoftedge.microsoft.com/addons/deta...
Mozilla
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/...
Opera
https://addons.opera.com/en/extensions/details/...
For Brave, I couldn't find the link, but you can try this
First, remove the IDM extension from Brave.
Find a file with this name: IDMGCExt.crx in folder brave installed.
My device is C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Download Manager.
open extensions and enable developer mode and then drag and drop that file to Brave.
Make sure the extension is enabled.
Note after downloading the extension for each browser reopen it so it can be activated
I hope this is helpful. If you require any additional assistance, don't hesitate to respond to this.

actually, before your reply, i tried to uninstall idm with Full settings meaning everything would be unistalled. and then installed it and it worked
I just opened my second browser (Chrome) and instantly received a notification from IDM stating that its extension is no longer supported.
Question: Why should we keep using Chrome?
IDM or Internet download manager was the best extension as it showed popups to download a video whenever (mostly sites) a video is played. Looking for a similar extension suggestions. With the popup feature.
