I was so incredibly disappointed with the “new” IKEA AR kreativ tool. Particularly within a small space like a closet or small office. And I struggle with the premade tools like “bedroom” or “office” . Seemed to limit the furniture options for each room. The pax planner hasn’t changed too much. And I did try the Besta planner and that worked well. Of course I didn’t commit and buy. Wish they’d bring back the original designer tool. I have both room planner and sketch up but in order to get all the IKEA furnishings you need to purchase full app- there is a trial period so if you can design etc within the trial time frame you can cancel it - save design first of course!!! IKEA had Home Planner app that used to let us pick any furniture but the latest one only allows kitchen item.
Tried the official AR app and it was trash.
Took a look at home.byme but doesn’t have ikea products and is a pain trying to find match or size like IKEA.
Is there anything out there?

I use Room Planner. There is a free version with a lot of the most popular Ikea stuff out there and a premium plan featuring a lot more products. It also supports other known brands, but I was basically able to plan most of my living room by using specific Ikea products. You won’t be able to plan a Besta wall, but it has most of the prebuilt stuff.

We are currently trying to redesign our bedroom. We would like to have a big PAX. But we would also like to have a big carpet and an ALEX desk which both are not available in the Bedroom-Planner. Now if we try all the other planners, there are no beds, that we could use for planning, OR we can't adjust the roomsize.... It's such a pain....
Can anybody help us out? Are we missing something?

If I had to guess it'd be because it'd be a lot of work to build, maintain, and update such a system. Plus I'd question how useful it would really be, the majority of people aren't doing total remodels of a space, they're just looking for a wardrobe or a desk or a bed. They probably think it's too high an investment with too little return.

You could try using SketchUp. I think you can download a free trial, simple to learn and most IKEA products are available to download in the online warehouse. I built our entire house in SketchUp before moving in just so I could figure out where to place everything .

I have been trying to find it online, it had a floor plan that allowed you to add windows and doors and irregular shapes to a room then drag in the furniture?
Does anyone know if they still have this?
I can only find planners for specifics furniture ranges.
